Slow Fiber is a network of Italian companies that offer products that are not only beautiful but also good, healthy, clean, fair and durable and are committed to applying these principles throughout the textile supply chain. Good defines the business model and the link with the territory, healthy expresses the attention to the health of consumers and people involved in production, clean represents the constant commitment to reducing environmental impact, fair represents the protection of workers and the guarantee of safe and healthy workplaces, and durable represents the commitment to offer quality products that are repairable and intended to be used for a long time. Slow Fiber is not an association of activists but a network of textile companies that through their production activities and daily commitment want to demonstrate concretely that an industrial model is possible that offers products that are not only beautiful but also good, healthy, clean, fair and durable. Each company that carries out a production step of the textile supply chain within its plants and respects the principles of good, healthy, clean, fair and durable can join the Slow Fiber network. Each of the values indicated is defined by certain measurement criteria (so-called KPIs) of which the mandatory ones, which are about 20, must be met.
